BREAKNIKS OPTIC EYE THING

the intro from the 'STRAIGHT OFF THE MEAT RACK' cd

This rE-cut/re-dubbed/re-verbed reworking of an interview with Mission Impossible star Peter Graves forms the intro to our Straight Off The Meat Rack' c.d release.

Nine Hundred and Fifty Million Miles

yeah, yeah. I now know it's not 950,000,000 miles from earth to the sun... That's the last time I ever quote Patrick Moore.

BREAKNIK NUTJOB

Luckily no animals were harmed in the filming of that video.... apart from 1 monkey found dead in a caravan. Her trainer Yoshi said Rocky was already dead when had found her in the caravans wardrobe'. He went on to say that after he'd gotten angry with her on the set of this video, they both went to cool down in the caravan. "But as i slept" said Yoshi to the jury, "she'd somehow gotten caught up in accidentally and strangled by her own a hat...the hand marks, i can't explain"..... the court case continues.

Newcleus – Jam on it  [the breakniks psychosis remix]

Its still truly an honor to have worked with Newcleus and everyone at the 'Jam on Productions'.
for me [ and i know i can speak 4 stet too as his the same age] Growing up on the tail end of punk/ skinhead/ romantics /electronica is all well and good...but being 11-12 years old in the e.l.e.c.t.r.o. era Freakin ROCKED....along with Egyptian Lover/Soul Sonic/Capt.Rock , Newcleus were and still are at the forefront of the movement.

i can only speak from a Brit view point, but when you watch these nostalgic programs about the 80's you will never hear Electro music being mentioned.

"..... but what happened in between? yeah, what did happen?.... well, it went pretty much like this..."

After hearing 'Hey You', 'Buffalo Gals','White Lines' and 'street dance'on the radio and top of the pops i was hooked. Back in those days I'd tape any song I liked using a flat handheld tape recorder pushed up against the speaker of the t.v ...

Incidentally, by doing this i'd end up with clapping at the start and end of every track. Plus i'd end up with some songs (for e.g Ghost Town by the Specials) that would include some choice dialogue of my dad, as he bust into the room shouting "turn that fucking music down", followed by me pleading "shhhh dad, i'm recording" ... "DON'T TELL ME TO SHHH, THIS IS MY FUCKIN' HOUSE''

.... I also recall being blown away by seeing the New York City Breakers on Blue Peter and the (after 9 a.m) T.VA.M body popping comp after my mate 'Fid' recorded it.

My 1st electro 12"s White Lines, followed by Beat Street ...When i got my 1st L.P 'Electro 4' , well...that was it. i was sold... and so, at 14 years old I'd became a total Electro fiend. Be it Capt. Rock/ Aleem/ E lover/ Kraftwerk/ Knights of the Turntables/ Imperial Bros/ Paul Hardcastle/ Davy D/ The Great Peso (who we later went on to remix for) / Fat Boys (1st lp)/ Hashim/ Man Parrish to name just a few...
From 1980-1986 SPACE WAS THE PLACE

...so, [as you can guess] being given the chance to remix Jam On It' for Newcleus... and then for Cozmo D ( aka electro royalty) to say the remix was ''..straight off the meat rack" ...well, it really blew me and Stet into another dimension.
